445 Cooperative Ventures Removal Scheme

445.1 Introduction

The scheme is managed and administered by the Forum Office. All enquiries regarding the scheme should be made to the Executive Officer, Forum of Cooperative Ventures.

445.2 Contract

Cooperative Ventures are invited to enter into a contract for membership of the removal scheme for a period of not less than five years.

445.3 Aim

The aim of the fund will be to contribute towards the cost of removals to member parishes.

445.4 Charges

a) A full charge for membership fee per stipendiary minister will be made payable monthly or quarterly in advance. This charge for each year will be reviewed each year and set in March and due on the first day of each month or quarter beginning July of the next year. Contributions are not refundable.

b) Failure to pay a charge within three weeks of the due date will attract a surcharge of 1% per month.

445.5 Removal expenses

Costs related to the moving in of ministers will be met by the fund on the following basis

a) 100% of costs up to a maximum of 45m³ of package and cartage of normal household and study effects.

b) 100% of reasonable travel and accommodation costs for one vehicle and family.

c) The maximum cost of any one removal including travel and insurance will normally be set at $6000. The Finance Committee of the Forum before approval will review special cases involving large moves.

445.6 Removal arrangements

a)All removals will be effected on an approved contract basis.  The fund will honour only charges for which it has given prior approval.

b) Three firm quotations for cartage and insurance will be submitted to the Forum for approval, which shall itself enter into the contact and be responsible for all charges as above. The fund will be liable for insurance of effects up to value of $100,000.

445.7 Termination

Membership of the fund can only be terminated on twelve months notice.  Such notice may be given after four years membership.

445.8 Joining

Parishes may join the fund at any time.

445.9 Removal costs of supply appointment

A church having appointed a supply ministry, which subsequently becomes a permanent appointment, may call upon the scheme to make retrospective payment.

The fund does not cover costs of removal of supply appointments.

445.10 Resignation

In exceptional circumstances there may be a resignation from the scheme and refund of contributions may be considered upon representation to the Forum of Cooperative Ventures.
